Mackay fitness trainers launch new line of 'active wear'
STRENGTH, functional and fashionable: Words too-often loosely associated with skimpy gym wear that claims to "make you look as good as you feel". Until now.
Mackay fitness trainers Luke and Rebecca Goodale, who own Mackay's Warrior the Centre, are changing this with their own range of active wear - W-Active Wear - launched here last week.
The couple used their experience of competing nationally at competition level and their extensive sport science experience, to design a range that works with the body during a workout.
"It's designed to support you while you train. The tights are designed to sculpt and lift, tops are designed to move with you and drape and enhance your natural curves," Mr Goodale said.
"The range is made from high quality fabrics that provide high-elastane, multi-layered, multi-panelled structure, giving support where it's needed and holding everything in place so there's no 're-adjusting' while you train," he said.
The clothing range includes women's crop tops and bras, tights, training singlets and shirts, as well as men's singlets, training shirts, shorts and hoodies.
"The range is sleek and minimalistic and focuses on functionality, not in-your-face branding. There's no overpowering logos or slogans; just discreet, strategic logo placement that lets the pieces speak for themselves," he said.
Mr Goodale said the range includes vibrant, on-trend colours and bold, fashionable Aztec prints.
"This range breaks the active wear mould by contrasting, complementing and highlighting, and by giving confidence from the moment you dress for your workout.
"Everyone that did our initial sampling and road testing has given us glowing reviews. At our launch party we also received some really positive feedback from a range of professions including seamstresses, models, photographers and personal trainers.
"Our early sales have exceeded our initial expectations with requests coming from England and the USA," he said.
The range is available online or at their newly opened pop-up store at 17 Milton St, Mackay, (upstairs within Warrior the Centre facility).
