Sasha: I was surprised by my Bachelor exit

SASHA Zhuravlyova didn't expect to be leaving The Bachelor mansion so soon.

The Russian-born executive assistant was the only bachelorette not to receive a rose from Richie Strahan tonight as Ten's reality dating show approaches its halfway mark.

"It did take me by surprise, but later on I evaluated it and I knew there were other girls who established stronger connections with Richie," Ms Zhuravlyova told APN.

"Unfortunately I needed more time with Richie. I wasn't invited on a single date and when you're at those cocktail parties there are girls straight away jumping at him.

"It's like this crazy speed dating. It was hard to stand out amongst the girls."

The 31-year-old said she kept herself busy during her downtime in the mansion by exercising and cooking.

"I cooked a lot of Russian food for the girls," she said.

"Olena's from Ukraine so we cooked a lot. We made dumplings together. It was a really good experience."

She believes the eventual winner will be one of the early front runners who have "been all over" Richie.

"Megan, Alex, Nikki, Olena, all those beautiful blonde girls have a pretty good chance of winning his heart," she said.

But interestingly, she didn't include another blonde - Keira, who ruffled feathers again tonight

"My experience with her is she does have both sides. She verbalises her opinions and that can come across as quite harsh," she said.

"She's just the one who sticks out more than the other ones. She's also a lovely, beautiful girl. We're good friends and I'm very lucky that I met her."

The Bachelor continues on Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel 10 when three intruders will arrive to shake things up.
