RSPCA has charged men behind possum torture video

RSPCA Qld Inspectors have charged two men they allege deliberately ran over a possum with a car wheel and then laughed as it crawled off with its entrails hanging out.

They reportedly filmed the torture and posted it on Snapchat.

Two seventeen-year-olds have been charged with serious animal cruelty.

The charge of serious animal cruelty was introduced by the previous government and carries a maximum penalty of seven years imprisonment.

"We would like to thank the public for its assistance in tracking down the alleged offenders," said RSPCA Qld CEO Mark Townend.
