IT WAS a competition that certainly dazzled attendees with the dizzying sights of headwear and elegant dresses but, at the end of the day, one contestant stood out the most.

Delighted Roma local Roz Presho won both the Maranoa ladies category and the contemporary category at Roma Cup's Fashions of the Field competition.

Wearing a fascinator made by Pink Lane Hats, Ms Presho said the day's events were a great experience.

"I'm just very shocked; I never thought I'd win two competitions in a day," she said.

"A friend of mine eventually pressured me into entering the Fashions of the Field, but I had originally planned not to enter."

Having entered similar competitions for the past five years, Ms Presho is confident about the ability of ladies in the Maranoa region.

"The fashions at the Roma Cup can match the fashions at Flemington; there's much more flair in the country," she said.

"Women just need to have fun and go all out at events like this."
