Roma's Easter in the Country a huge success

MORE than 4000 festival-goers converged on Roma for the annual Easter in the Country event at the weekend.

Easter in the Country president Jenny Flynn said it was successful overall, with attendance up at all events.

"The feedback from the visiting public has been enormously positive and the community is very happy with the outcome," she said.

With visitors from all over Australia and abroad, there was something for everyone, and new events held for the first time were well received.

"I think the Sunday morning out at Bassett Park was fantastic. We trialled the billy cart races and wife carrying," Ms Flynn said.

The staple drag, speedway and rodeo events also produced bumper crowds.

"I would like to thank all the community organisations that got involved. We look forward to working with them next year," Ms Flynn said.
