Roma’s best and brightest get their OPs
THESE Roma girls have plenty of reasons to smile - they are three of 2015's highest achievers in the Maranoa.
With students across Queensland getting their OP results, Kate Upton (OP2), Rachel Steinohrt (OP3) and Katie Sands (OP3) are among our best and brightest in the class of 2015 from both Roma State College and St John's.
However, the paths the three girls will take in 2016 couldn't be more different.
Rachel said she was not planning to go to university just yet.
"My first preference was nutrition and dietetics at the University of Sunshine Coast, but I'm doing a gap year to work," she said.
Katie will also be taking a gap year, but her journey will take her back to school in another country.
"I'm going to France to do exchange - I'm hoping it's fun and going back to school won't be bad," she said.
"Being able to speak another language really helped me decide."
When she returns to Australia, Katie will do a double degree in engineering and science at the University of Queensland.
Kate is the only one heading straight to university, choosing to do a Bachelor of Engineering at UQ.
Regardless of their plans for next year, they all agreed their time at school in Roma was worth celebrating.
