Romance rules on the Golden Globes red carpet
FEMININE frocks are a dominant theme at today's Golden Globes.
As stars from TV and film continue to arrive at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, romantic jewel tones, sequins, ruffles and lace are all on show in the first major event of Hollywood's awards season.
Blindspot star Jaimie Alexander made a stunning early arrival in an emerald gown, while burgundy, gold and mustard yellow were other popular colours.
Dramatic necklines were another big trend, from plunging V-lines to X-shaped halters.
Stars including Taraji P Henson, Jennifer Lopez, Emilia Clarke and Australia's own nominee Cate Blanchett added some drama with trains and capes.
Australia was also represented by E! red carpet show host Giuliana Rancic, who wore an orange gown by designer Alex Perry.
