Roma to walk for cure of Type 1 Diabetes

ROMA'S Darcy Nichols will walk to help create a world without Type 1 diabetes.

The teenager, who has type 1 diabetes, has helped organise the One Walk for a World without Type 1 diabetes event with the hope of raising big money for ongoing research.

More than 170 people turned up for the first ever walk two years ago and Darcy's mother Heather McHugh said she was hoping for a similar number to head to the Big Rig tomorrow.

"It will be a staggered start so everyone can fit along the Adungadoo Pathway," she said.

The walk will start and end at the Big Rig, with the cafe supplying breakfast for all participants at the cost of just $15.

For more information on the event, call Heather on 0428 837 585.
