Roma Show’s Night to Remember Ball just a week away

THE Roma Show Society and the Roma Gun Club have been around for a combined 232 years – so it’s only appropriate they should team up to bring Roma the best night of the year.

The two historic groups, along with Roma’s favourite bakery Bakearoma, have been working hard to get the Night to Remember Ball up and running, which is just over a week away.

While the Roma Show will be bringing the guests and entertainment, the gun club will provide its incredible venue to patrons of the ball, which has been the site of dozens of weddings and other formal occasions over the years, with Bakearoma to do the catering.

Roma Gun Club president Byron Hewitt encouraged the town to get behind the show and the inaugural ball, promising everyone would have a great night.

“Anything that is a chance for people to dress formal and have a great night is an excellent thing for our town,” Mr Hewitt said.

“We like keeping high standards at the Roma Gun Club and we’ve been the site for so many weddings and formal events.

“The scenery is beautiful and it’s nice and quiet – you couldn’t ask for a better complex to host the ball.

“I’d love to see the town get behind it – it’s something the town needs.”

Roma Show treasurer Barbara Slater said the gun club was the perfect venue for the ball, which asks guests to either dress in formal or 1920s ‘flapper-style’ outfits for evening next Saturday.

“The Roma Gun Club appealed to us because it’s got great facilities and a family-oriented background,” she said.

“It will just look lovely on the night – we can’t wait!”

Tickets, which include a three course meal, entertainment from Cool Nights Big Band and a free drink for just $85, are available from Mad Mac Toy Vault, Bakearoma, or by phoning 0497 225 698.
