UPDATE: THE Royal Hotel has caught fire again today.

The small blaze emerged late this afternoon from the wreckage of the pub, which tragically burnt down yesterday.

Emergency services are currently at the scene to quell the fire, while Police are directing traffic along McDowall St.

UPDATE: THE co-owner of the Roma Royal Hotel has expressed his shock and devastation at the loss of the iconic building today.

Sam Ingham-Myers, who bought the hotel with his brother Nick last year, said the important thing was everyone escaped unharmed from the fire that has engulfed the Royal.

"Our families are just absolutely devastated but the main thing is everyone got out," he said.

"We've got to just rebuild and move on."

A machine in the kitchen is believed to have started the fire late this afternoon, which engulfed the entire building.

Roads around the establishment have been closed so please seek alternative routes.

Firefighters have managed to stop the fire reaching Subway and Brenorr's.

BREAKING: EMERGENCY services are trying to contain what is left of the Roma Royal Hotel after the establishment burned down this afternoon.

A machine in the kitchen is believed to have started the fire late this afternoon, which engulfed the entire building.

Everyone has escaped unharmed, but an employee at the Royal said all her possessions have gone up in flames.

"I was sitting on the roof and I heard a yell and the flames started coming and I just got everyone out," she said.

"All I have is what's on me right now."
