Roma Redbacks edge Tansey
POLOCROSSE: The Roma A Grade polocrosse team has taken out the Roma Carnival at the weekend, capping off an entertaining two days of action.
Drawing 23 teams from all over Queensland, the carnival showcased some incredible horsemanship skills, with riders battling windy conditions on the Saturday.
Roma Polocrosse Club secretary Katie Connolly said the carnival was a memorable one for all the right reasons.
"It was a very successful weekend overall,” she said.
"The highlight was seeing the carnival strongly represented by so many teams and also witnessing the Roma A Grade take out the A Grade in a nail-biting final.”
The Roma A Grade side was the team to beat all weekend, edging a competitive Tansey side by a mere two goals in one of the most exciting polocrosse finals in recent memory.
Roma Polocrosse club will now head to St George on the weekend of August 25 before heading to the state championships the weekend after.
