Roma races into Christmas
HORSE RACING: It was a jolly day of racing at Bassett Part on Saturday.
The McDonald's Christmas Races made for a great day at the track.
Jockey Hannah English was one of the big winners on the day, taking out the first three races.
English won the opening race, the Barry Richardson Maiden Plate memorial race, riding All The Tricks, a horse owned by the Richardson family.
She also took out the second and third races of the day.
Dakota Graham rode Blue Jest to win race four, and Sean Palmer rode Fab's Cowboy to victory in race five.
The racing wasn't the only form of entertainment on the day, with many spectators taking the opportunity to get Christmas celebrations started early.
Christmas and birthday parties were hosted trackside, and kids were kept entertained by a jumping castle set up by Roma Apex Club, as well as a visit from Santa.
