Roma Clearview Rise opens

ROMAITES turned up in droves to check out the new Clearview Rise development on Hospital Hill on an open day on Saturday.

Urban Land Development Authority director Peter Smith was on hand with Maranoa mayor Rob Loughnan to cut the ribbon on the Stage 4 release of 12 house and land packages.

Mr Smith said the ULDA would release of further stages in Clearview Rise to 370 homes on 340 lots including one at the end of the month offering larger lots to suit families.

He also said the Myplace initiative would be rolled out in Roma to give low to moderate income earners the chance to buy affordable homes.

Mayor Rob Loughnan said he was impressed with the speed of construction of the houses and said Clearview Rise was part of a range of housing initiatives supported by Council.

Rugby league legend Gorden Tallis helped mark the official Display Village opening, and food stalls and a free gourmet barbecue were available on the day.

Mr Tallis said he liked what was happening in Roma.

"I'm building a house myself so it is good to get some ideas from what is happening here," Mr Tallis said.
