Roma business makes a move

ROMA partners Luke and Natasha Wiedman have had a busier start to the New Year than most, spent moving their business Outback Glass and Aluminium to a new premises off Spencer St.

The larger facility, located behind Roma Pet Supplies, has given the duo room to expand as they work to provide a large portion of the southwest with aluminium and glass products.

Outback Glass and Aluminium is one of only two local businesses of its kind in Roma.

That leaves the team with a large area to cover, and they often travel to jobs in Charleville, Miles, Quilpie, Cunnamulla and St George.

Mr Wiedman has been working in the industry for more than 15 years, starting Outback Glass and Aluminium with Ms Wiedman in 2010.

"I felt that I had to give running my own business a go,” Mr Wiedman said.

The business has continued to grow over the last seven years. With this growth came the need to employ another staff member, and Pete Mogg started with the company.

Between Mr Wiedman and Mr Mogg, the team has more than 20 years of experience in the industry

"Currently we do windows, doors, wardrobes, showers, shopfronts, reglazing, regauzing, mirrors, fly-screens - if it has something to do with aluminium and glass, we do it,” he said.

"The travel doesn't worry us at all, we often find ourselves in Charleville, Chinchilla, Miles and St George for a job.

"We are the contractors for Bradnam's Windows and Doors west of Chinchilla and we are thankful for their business.”

The handiwork of the team can be seen in some of southwest's finest establishments, including the Royal flying doctors facility in Charleville.

The team is now looking to the future, preparing to replace Roma Post Office's shopfront later this month, on top of projects scheduled in Cunnamulla and Charleville.

Outback Glass and Aluminium are currently offering a 10% discount on screens, which will run until the end of February.
