Roma bikers playing Santa for children in need

IF SANTA needs a break this Christmas, Roma's bikers proved they're ready to take his place.

More than 20 motorcyclists got together on Saturday for the annual Anglicare toy run.

The bikers delivered donated toys and vouchers from Bassett Park to the Roma Clay Target Club, where the gifts were gratefully accepted by Anglicare staff.

Helen Mcleod, manager of Anglicare child protection and youth Southern Queensland, thanked the event organisers and volunteers for their efforts.

She said the gifts would help make Christmas a little easier for foster families this year.

"I feel very strongly that we support carers in the best way possible,” Ms Mcleod said.

She said foster carers and their biological children needed just as much support as foster children at Christmas time.

"We don't just give to foster children, we give to the entire foster family,” Ms Mcleod said.
