Roma announced as Queensland's Tidiest Town for 2015

Roma has been voted as Queensland's Tidiest Town for 2015 by Keep Queensland Beautiful, for their innovative holistic efforts in resource management.

The assessment panel for Keep Queensland Beautiful said they were impressed by the efforts of the community in managing disposed materials through recycling, composting or energy generation to extract the maximum benefits from products.

Recovery programs of note included the Drop Zone Roma (a 1 day eWaste collection event, collecting 1,200 kgs in electronic waste), the Nugrow Composting Trial (20,000m3 green waste diverted from landfill) and the Oil Recovery program (20000L oil recovered).

Roma was awarded a three star rating out of five by the panel.
