Roll up, Roma: it's showtime!

ROMA'S 132nd annual show begins on Friday, continuing a long tradition of celebrating the agricultural industry in the region.

The show is set to be jam-packed with rides, a sideshow alley, a pavilion brimming with art, craft and photography, not to mention the fashion parade, circus workshops and show jumping.

Head along to the official opening, blessing of the plough and announcement of Roma's Miss Showgirl at 1pm today.

Entertainment also abounds with the ute show, family night and fireworks on Saturday night.

This year many local businesses will be returning to Bassett Park to display their goods at the Roma Show.

These businesses support the show by displaying their products for patrons to view and maybe purchase at a later date, so take the opportunity to have a look at the latest models without the pressure of a salesroom.

Some of the businesses with displays include:

- Armstrong Auto Group/ Black Toyota

- Maranoa Mini Motors

- Pumps n Solar

- Crawfo's Tyres

- Kimlins Camping World

- Taylor's Mechanical

- Taylor's Parts Centre

- Roma Firefighting Equipment

- Santos.

Support the region's businesses by checking out their stands.

Other traders have travelled a long way to display their products, they include:

- Simplicity Coatings

- Camel Tanks

- Citisolar North

- Co2.

The Roma Golf Club will once again have the driving range on site in Machinery Alley, which is a great chance for you to have a go and see if golf is the hobby for you.

All your favourite food vans will also be at the show, including a carvery, donuts, the pizza van, kebabs, Smith Pies, Chinese and potatoes.

Our local Lions Chips will be in their usual spot and the Maranoa Archers will once again run their barbecue near the Machinery Bar.

Cafe 54 will again be running the canteen under the grandstand.

The committee hasn't forgotten those with a sweet tooth - you can't go past the poffertjes and ice cream vans, or try a dippin' dot ice cream - they are to die for.

Also on the grounds this year will be jewellery stalls, homemade sweets, lingerie, novelties, Mt Wayo Lavender, Aussie spinners, fashion, an air brush tattoo van, coffee and slushies.

Don't forget to bring your coins for a chance to win one of the many raffles on offer.

And, last but not least, keep an eye out for the roving entertainment, and don't forget your showbags.
