Riders rope in at the Injunw Golden Bit Campdraft

CAMPDRAFT: Injune's residents packed out the Possum Park Racecourse at the weekend as the annual Injune Golden Bit Campdraft got under way.

The weekend kicked off with the inaugural Tom and Topsy Warrian Memorial Maiden Draft, which follows the recent passing of much-loved patron Tom Warrian.

Competition was fierce, with some good rounds put together on fine-quality steers as Jody Crozier on A-Latte took out the winning spot.

The memorial draft was followed by the eagerly anticipated Lesley Henricks Memorial draft as last year's third placegetter Jess Crozier took out the showcase riding Wooly.

Saturday dawned bright as the Graham Roberts Memorial Novice Draft got under way.

Jody Crozier, returning after her victory in the previous day's competition, produced a masterclass performance, riding Perfection to take home the coveted Golden Bit Trophy.

Saturday wrapped up with the Landmark Restricted open as Gavin Roberts riding Rusty came out of the pack to take the Golden Bit Trophy.

On Sunday the action continued with the Trevor Godfrey Memorial Maiden, with Roma resident Toni Bourke victorious on his horse Haymac Jovi.

The Cattle Trax Juvenile followed and another Roma resident, Charley Anderson, took out the top spot.

The Sonny Henricks Memorial Open Draft then got under way and Roma yet again produced the goods in the form of Brodie Hurley riding a mare called Suzette.

The Eileen Lee Memorial Junior and Mini Campdrafts wrapped up another successful year of Injune's Golden Bit Campdraft.
