Roma Police Officer revving up his bike to help needy kids

RUSSELL 'Rusty' McKee might seem like a big tough biker.

But would you believe he was a cop if you didn't know who he was?

Snr Sgt McKee will be one of the dozens of bikes riding in the Maranoa Motorcyclists toy run later this month to collect presents for disadvantaged kids.

The police officer, who has years of experience behind the handlebars of bikes like his Triumph Speedmaster, said he wanted people to know the run was not associated with any established motorcycle clubs.

"You don't see many motorcycle clubs out this way so, when we go riding on November 28, people turn their heads," Snr Sgt McKee said.

"There are motorcycles of all shapes and sizes taking part."

The toy run will begin at Bassett Park on Saturday, November 28, from 8.30am and will finish at the Roma Clay Target Club.
