QantasLink add more flight services to Roma

QANTASLINK has announced it will put on additional services to Roma next month to meet strong demand.

From July 1 there will be six additional return flights between Roma and Brisbane a week, increasing the number of seats on this route by 372 seats to 3174 seats, over 50 flights a week.

QantasLink executive manager John Gissing said he was delighted QantasLink was increasing capacity and deploying larger aircraft in Bundaberg, Longreach and Roma.

"I'm delighted that we are once again increasing capacity on our Roma route," Mr Gissing said.

Mr Gissing said QantasLink had exclusively served Roma since 2001 and their diverse operations gave them the flexibility and increase capacity to meet demand from corporate and leisure customers.

"QantasLink proudly supports regional communities in Queensland," he said.

"We have increased our capacity in Queensland by 8% this year, which is great for local tourism."

The new Roma Airport was opened in April 2012.

Before Christmas, Roma was the busiest regional airport in Australia with an incredible 17 flights in one day.
