Prison for chicken fiend

A DEMAND for free chicken has landed a Mitchell man in hot water.

Tyron Lemon, 33, pleaded guilty in Roma Magistrates Court on Wednesday to a string of charges, including one count of committing public nuisance and one count of obstructing a police officer following an incident at a chicken shop at Kallangur in Brisbane earlier this year.

Lemon pleaded guilty to both offences, which took place around 10pm on August 31 when he entered the shop shouting and demanding free chicken, which was refused by staff.

He was asked to leave but damaged some property before police arrived, at which time he became defensive.

He then failed to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on September 17, to which he also pleaded guilty.

Lemon also pleaded guilty to a count of trespassing after he unlawfully entered the grounds of Roma State College on October 1.

He received a sentence of nine months for public nuisance and obstructing a police officer, and for his failure to appear he received 14 days. He was not punished for trespassing.

The court also fined 21-year-old Jayden Walker, who was charged with public nuisance after feelings of jealousy over a female resulted in the defendant and another male getting into a fight.

The incident occurred outside the Club Motel's Zone Nightclub on October14 at 1.55am.

Walker was banned from all licensed premises in Roma for seven months.

He was also fined $1200 and ordered to perform 60 hours of unpaid community service.
