Price slashed on Roma cinema block to entice new owners
The owners of the Roma Cinema building have slashed the property's price as the defunct business still struggles to find a new owner.
The old cinema's Facebook page, which now only shares movie trailers and ads for cinemas outside the region, announced the drop of price to $580,000 (plus GST) on January 23.
Featuring 1012m2 covering a reception area, theatre, cafe, and a projector room, the building could be used as either a cinema or another business of choice.
"The potential is only limited by your imagination," the Facebook post said.
"Everyone is always saying that there is nothing to do in Roma."
According to the post, land values near the 37 Hawthorne St address are almost double what is being asked for the cinema block.
The Cinema officially closed on November 8, 2018, for the third time in eight years, but hasn't reopened since.
