Possible rain, thunderstorms for southwest this week

SOUTHWEST Queensland could expect some showers and possible thunderstorms over the coming week as temperatures begin to heat up.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a 50 per cent chance of rain for Roma this afternoon, October 18, with a slight chance of a thunderstorm.

Temperatures will reach up to 35 degrees, but will cool down slightly over the week.

A thunderstorm is also predicted for Wednesday October 21, with a 50 per cent chance of up to 4mm of rainfall.

A 30 per cent chance of 6mm is predicted on Friday, October 23.

Charleville may not experience as much rainfall as Roma, although a wet weather event is predicted for Friday as well.

A 50 per cent chance of 5mm is being predicted, and the showers could carry onto Saturday with up to 8mm to fall on October 24.
