No evidence found in police search of Lake Awoonga
POLICE yesterday ceased their search of Lake Awoonga, near Gladstone, after divers failed to find any evidence relating to the disappearance of Rockhampton's Robert Martinez and Chantal Barnett.
The search began three days ago after police received several tip-offs from the public.
However, CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Moon said the search could re-commence pending further investigations.
He said while it was disappointing the search had not yet uncovered any items of interest, police were happy with the progress of the investigation into the pair's suspected murder.
Martinez and Barnett were last seen in February last year.
