Police urge caution for Easter in the Country

POLICE have urged motorists and pedestrians to exercise caution for the upcoming Easter in the Country, with additional foot patrols and police presence scheduled ahead of the weekend.

Roma Police OIC Sgt Barry Winter said urged motorists and pedestrians to plan ahead for the celebrations.

"We are urging motorists to be more patient than usual with the higher influx of people this weekend," he said.

"There will be more pedestrians and vehicular traffic than usual, and police will be conducting extra patrols over the weekend.

"We would also like to remind drivers that fatigue is a major risk on highways, and drivers should remember to plan the trip ahead and have a proper rest."
