Police release images of so-called playground predator

A PLAYGROUND predator is in the crosshairs of police after he was reported "acting suspiciously" near children at an indoor play area in Melbourne.

Police have been told the man sat down near an indoor playground at the Knox City Shopping Centre on 8.30am on Friday April 10.

According to police: "The man continually rubbed his genitals over his clothing and appeared to be pleasuring himself".

A mother said she grew concerned when she realised the man was staring at her two-year-old son.
Once spotted, the man fled.

Police have now released CCTV images of the man.

He is described as being Asian in appearance and middle aged with black hair.

He was wearing black pants, a white shirt and was holding a grey hooded jumped.
