Police raids net five on drugs, weapons charges
QUEENSLAND police executed search warrants at five homes in Biloela on Wednesday, charging five men with a range of drugs and weapons charges.
A 46-year-old local was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and unlawful possession of a weapon after police recovered one kilogram of cannabis and an unregistered shotgun from his Valentine Plains Rd property.
The shotgun and cannabis were seized by police and the man will appear at Biloela Magistrates Court at the next criminal court date.
A search of a Callide St property yielded a small amount of cannabis and drug utensils, and the house's 49-year-old occupant was charged with both drug and utensil possession.
Police also recovered five grams of cannabis from a Dunn St property and charged a 27-year-old male with possession, while searches of houses on Granville St and Dresden St saw two men in their early thirties charged with possession of utensils for allegedly possessing water pipes.
Police said the raids were part of ongoing normal procedures and did not necessarily form part of a specific operation.
