Man stabbed in the back in Surfers Paradise

A KNIFE-wielding man is on the run after he allegedly stabbed another man in the back in central Surfers Paradise.

A 22-year-old man was found with a stab wound in his lower back at a vacant Thornton Street property at 10.10pm last night.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they believe he was attacked by a man known to him and have called on the public to help find the assailant.
