Police hunt for women linked to Bridge St robbery
POLICE are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a taxi driver in Toowoomba early this morning.
Police are alleging that at 12.15am, two females entered the vehicle on Bridge St armed with knives, and demanded cash while threatening the male driver.
The driver left the taxi and ran down the road with the takings.
One female chased after the driver for a short distance before returning to the taxi.
Both offenders then left the scene empty-handed.
The 63-year-old driver was not physically injured.
Police are urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the vicinity of Bridge St to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Investigations are continuing.
