Photo passion turns to prizes for Roz

ROZ Fulwood got her first camera when she was just 12 years old – and she’s never looked back.

The Roma woman has just completed a personal dream by being named Grand Champion at the Roma Show’s Photography Section with her incredible shot of a friend’s property.

Ms Fulwood’s life-long passion behind the eyepiece earned her 13 placings in the section – a personal best.

While she said her Canon 700D camera travels with her most of the time, the shot that won her the title of Grand Champion was a case of simple luck.

“I was heading out to a friend’s property and this cow came right over to me to see what I was doing,” Ms Fulwood said.

“The sunlight was just perfect – I only had a few seconds to get the shot before he left.”

Friends and admirers have often wanted to buy photos, but Ms Fulwood said photography was just a hobby not a profession.

“I’ve given them away before but I don’t sell them,” she said.

Section head Tom Gillespie said locals should expect some changes to categories at next year’s show.

The section was judged by professional Bruce Butler.
