MORE than 40 dogs went for a nudie run down by Shady's Lagoon this morning.

That is because Maranoa Regional Council officially opened the Roma Off-Leash Dog Park.

All shapes and sizes from Great Danes to Dachshunds were there to celebrate the milestone.

Community Safety councillor Puddy Chandler said council was thrilled to launch the Off-Leash Dog Park.

"I hopes pet owners in the Maranoa and visitors will enjoy this area to exercise their dog and celebrate this new space,” Cr Chandler said.

Mayor Tyson Golder said he looked forward to seeing everyone and their dogs having fun.

"As I go around the Maranoa I see how many people are interacting with their dogs and I believe council can help support dog ownership and also people in the community enjoying the benefits of having dogs,” Cr Golder said.

"The facilities here today have also been delivered by a local business, WAH Construction completing the majority of the works.”
