A ROLLER coaster ride at Sea World on the Gold Coast took an extra scary turn around lunchtime Wednesday.

One of the cars from the Storm Coaster ride got stuck at the top, just before its first drop.

Witnesses said passengers were rescued quickly and the ride fixed.

Just two months ago 13 passengers got stuck on the Green Lantern roller coaster at Movie World, Sea World's sister theme park.

Six of them were stranded for three hours. The incident was later attributed to an issue with a wheel.
