Party hopes bikini model can get a seat

BIKINI model Anastasia Bakss is among the panel of No Land Tax Party candidates contesting every one of the state's 93 lower house and 16 upper house seats.

The micro-party has secured the top spot on the election ballot paper, with political pundits saying it is ideally poised to pick up "donkey votes" and actually win seats.

But the party's method of choosing candidates and their diverse backgrounds is also turning heads.

Ms Bakss, a model and fitness trainer, will stand for the Sydney seat of Heffron.

Despite having little to no political background, Ms Bakss is well known, with more than 17,000 followers on her Instagram account.

The call for nominations was unusual, with the party emailing members to ask "who wants to be a candidate?"

Other aspirants who answered the call included Sydney Latin dancers Ulysses Maclaren and Jasmin Addison.

Party leader Peter Jones is a former trade unionist and former member of the Labor Party.
