Roma Touch team profile: The Outsiders
This season of touch has well and truly kicked off with a number of teams playing their first game after a bye last week.
Newcomers the Stars played the Outsiders in a match on Tuesday night.
We talked to the Outsiders after the game and here's what they had to say..
Is this the first season you guys have played as a team?
No it's our second season but we have a few that are playing for the first time.
What attracted you to touch football?
Peer pressure. The one person who actually isn't here brought us all together.
But seriously for the fitness aspect of it as well.
What is the hardest thing about the game?
Running, definitely running. And making good passes.
Is this the only sport you are involved in?
Definitely. It's the main source of activity for the week for a lot of us.
What is the best part about touch?
It's good because it's mixed so it's a real social game as well. You can put in as much as you want and it's not really competitive.
What would you say to someone who was thinking about joining a touch team?
It's good fun and it's social. Just have a run and give it a go. Your fitness builds over time, you get better and you learn your strategies more every game. Don't be afraid of having a go here's a level for everyone here no matter what skills you have.
Run and give it a go.
Touch games are played on Monday and Tuesday night at the Roma Touch Fields on Bungil St.
