Nothing is shaking Brett’s Mustang love
FORD might have brought out a new Mustang in 2015, but Roma's Brett Conroy is more in love with those made 50 years ago.
Ford has released its new model Mustang in Australia, but Mr Conroy said his original 1965 model was the best.
Mr Conroy grew up in the golden era of mustangs, when the car was featured in classic movies.
"I always loved the shape of the car more than any other thing, when I saw the mustang in Steve McQueen's movie Bullet I was hooked," he said.
"I just love the shape itself, and the long bonnet.
"The 1965 Mustang Coupe up to 1969 is my favourite, after that they lost their appeal."
Mr Conroy saved up to 20 years to purchase his pride and joy two years ago.
"I will be never forget that day - I have spent $17,000 dollars on parts and labour, everything has been rebuilt on the car including new motor, brand new disk brakes, new shock absorbers and new fuel tank," he said.
"The new engine is a 302 Windsor V8 developing 280 horse power."
Mr Conroy said he saw his car as an investment for the future.
"The Mustang will definitely hold its value - anything with chrome grille will increase in value and there are lot of buyers out there," he said.
He said he was excited for the release of the new model, but said nothing will shake his true love.
