No bail for Spedding on child sex charges

WASHING machine repairman Bill Spedding has been denied bail over historical child sex charges.

The 63-year-old Bonny Hills man was a person of interest in the disappearance of toddler William Tyrrell.

Mr Spedding was charged with five counts of sex with a child under the age of 10 and two counts of common assault dating back to 1987 in Sydney.

The charges were unrelated to the Tyrrell case, but were brought by police officers investigating the four-year-old's where-abouts. Mr Spedding's law-yer said he denied all of the alleged offences.
