New Roma creche offers affordable child care
ROMA women Cherie Pooley is offering a child care service that won't break the bank.
For as little as $8 an hour, Ms Pooley's Good Vibes Child Minding Service will run out of the PCYC four times a week, beginning from next Monday.
"So basically Cindy from the PCYC runs the creche two days a week for free for the mums to come in on-site and do metafit or use the gym,” she said.
"It was just sitting here unused apart from those days so I thought let's open it up to the whole community. "You don't have to stay on-site to use it, so if you have an emergency or you just need to drop your kids off for a few hours you have that option and it's for people who can't afford to pay $100 a day for childcare.”
Ms Pooley has just moved from the Sunshine Coast and has a lot of experience working within the community.
"I've worked in community welfare for a long time but it was very different coming to a new town,” she said
Ms Pooley's creche will open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Visit her Facebook page for more information.
