New blood at Irish is all for supporting locals
ROMA'S iconic Irish pub has recently come under new management and they want you to join them.
Irish McGann's publican Amanda McKinnon said she was hoping to not only employ more locals to work at the pub but to also bring the locals back to it.
"I've already employed a couple,” Ms McKinnon said.
"I really want to just fill it up with locals plus my management team that I bought with me.
"So just come down and check it out.”
Although new to the area, Ms McKinnon has years of experience with pub management and has brought her established team along with her.
"Since I was 15 years old I've been in pubs and I've been a pub manager for 25 years now at least,” she said.
"It's really a vast display of hospitality experience across the team here.
"We've just bought a different management team with a different style of management.”
Ms McKinnon said they are looking at changing a few things up and hopefully having more live entertainment and more on offer for the locals.
"We welcome all the locals to come back and have a look and we are going to start changing the menu up soon,” she said.
"We'll do a few different specials, like kids eat free on Wednesdays and Sundays.
"We are going to have pizza nights on Thursdays and we have footy on the big TV.”
Ms McKinnon wanted the public to know that everything would still be in operation.
"No we are not closing, it's all happening at the Irish.”
The Irish are currently looking for more staff to join their team and are taking resumes from eligible job seekers.
