Owner: Why would somebody want to steal someone else's door?

A BUNDABERG homeowner is angry after he says the front door of his property was stolen.

Don Wall owns a Walker St home, which he bought in November, with plans to sell after it was renovated.

Mr Wall said he drove passed the property about a week ago and thought the front door had been left open.

"Then I went back to close it and found the door was gone," he said.

"I don't understand why someone thinks they deserve that door more than me - the owner of that property.

"Why would somebody want to steal someone else's door?"

Mr Wall said the property was locked and even the padlocks on the backdoor were still in place.

He said the white door was about 2.1m high and weighed about 50kg.

"It had a stained glass circle on the top half," Mr Wall said.

"The door is probably 80 years old and for that era would have been a high quality front door."

Mr Wall said he had not reported the crime to police and had no intentions to do so, as he believed it would not be high on their priority list.

A Bundaberg Police spokesman said police could only investigate an alleged crime if it was reported.

Mr Wall had a simple message for those people that took his door.

"Bring it back," he said.

"I'm quite angry that someone thinks they deserve it more than I do.

"And I'm upset that I have to try to find a solution for a door that would have been a very unique point to the renovation of the property."
