Murray siblings honour grandfather ‘Mick’ Langton at Kokoda
THE memory of their grandfather CGP "Mick" Langton was deep in the minds of Dan, Mel and Bec Murray as they walked 146km in just eight days.
The siblings completed the same track Australian soldiers made in Papua New Guinea during the Second World War in order to honour their own heritage.
While they never met their grandfather, Dan said the trek put things into perspective about the trials Leading Aircraftman Langton went through during the war in PNG.

The trio also visited the graves of six Roma men who died in PNG, and Bec was given the honour of reading a poem by Duncan Butler at a dawn service in Kokoda.
"It was really moving," she said.
The trek started on June 28 and finished on July 7.
