Mum trapped in London fire posts harrowing videos
A MOTHER-of-two has posted two harrowing videos on social media while trapped on the 23rd floor of the burning Grenfell Tower apartment building in west London.
The posts were the last anyone has heard from Rania Ibrham since the 24-storey block of flats went up in flames early Wednesday morning.
Her best friend, Yaz, showed a Snapchat video to UK breakfast program Good Morning Britain, which Ms Ibrham posted at 2.54am.
The video showed petrified Ms Ibrham praying in Arabic.
"You can see she's trapped," Yaz told the program through tears.
"She's praying and she's saying, 'Forgive me everyone, goodbye'."
The Egyptian native is a mother to a two girls, aged five and three.
She also posted a nine-minute Facebook Live video to her page at 1.38am, about the time the fire began.
A distraught Mrs Ibrham is seen opening the door to an apartment and yelling for people stuck in the smoke-filled hallway to join her inside.
She can also be heard praying to Allah on the balcony of the flat.
"We are stuck on the 23rd floor," another woman yells in desperation during the video.
"There's too many people stuck upstairs. Hello!"
Friends commenting on Facebook have posted prayers for her safety and urged Ms Ibrham to call them. She has not replied.
"Oh no i am sooo worried, her mobile not ringing," one friend commented under the video.
Police have confirmed that 12 people have died in the blaze and that at least 74 people have been treated in hospital.
These numbers are expected to rise.
