RIP OFF: Petrol price jumps 30c overnight
MOTORISTS in Toowoomba are fuming after the price of unleaded petrol jumped about 30c a litre overnight.
The Garden City had been blessed with low prices, about $1 a litre, in August and September.
Meanwhile our cousins in Brisbane had been paying about $1.20 to $1.30.
Now it seems the good times have come to an end, with the price of unleaded petrol jumping to 129.7c a litre at some petrol stations.
The RACQ says the fair price for petrol in Toowoomba today is about 118.3c.
A spokesman for the group advised residents to shop around for the cheapest prices.
The hike left some residents complaining about the price.
There has been a steady drop in the price of petrol in Toowoomba since July.
International instability caused by the British vote to leave the European Union, dubbed "Brexit", was blamed for low oil prices.
