Miss Showgirl holds BBQ to raise funds for Roma Show

THE ROMA Show may still be seven months away, but the Miss Showgirl winners have already started fundraising to ensure it's the biggest one yet.

Rural Ambassador, Sarah Packer, Princess Showgirl, Kaitlyn Bentley, Junior Showgirl, Georgia Anderson and Miss Showgirl, Remi Cowan proudly donned their sashes and sold sausages and cold softdrinks to hungry customers outside Roma Home and Hardware Saturday morning.

Steward for Miss Showgirl, Tia Bentley said she hopes getting the faces of Miss Showgirl out there will inspire others to apply next year.

"We want to make it a bit bigger then it has been in previous years. If people see the young ones are doing it, others will follow,” she said.

"And by holding these fundraisers, the community can get more involved and see what these girls really do.

"The community support has been great. Roma Home and hardware donated everything to cook with and Woolies donated all the drinks.”

Rural ambassador, Sarah Packer said she was happy to take some time out of her day to help out a great cause.

"Its good to give back to the community because people give back to you and it's not that much time out of your day to help out,” she said.

The Roma Show will be on May 8 and 9 2020.
