Miners push for new strike rules
MINING firms are pushing for strikes to be limited to employment-related claims and seeking wider changes to the Fair Work Act.
The Australian Mines and Metals Association has urged the Productivity Commission to recommend changes on workers taking industrial action.
AMMA chief executive Steve Knott also said the Fair Work system was "failing Australia" and more needed to be done to lift labour productivity.
Mr Knott also urged changes to create more "competitive" workplace agreements for new greenfield mine sites.
