Mike Jones fastest in the first round of superbike qualifier

QUEENSLAND rider Mike Jones was one of the early stars in round two of the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championships at Morgan Park Raceway at the weekend.

He was fastest in the first round of qualifying in the superbike class in a time of one minute, 16.134 seconds.
South Australian rider Daniel Falzon was second and Philip Lovell from New South Wales third.

In the second round of qualifying, Jones was first in 1:16.97 from Lovett in 1:18.109 and Victorian star Chas Hern in 1:18.513.

There will be racing today (Sunday) at Morgan Park as a round of the superbike championships are held in Warwick for the first time.

Racing is not only in the national series classes but in some other categories.
