LOCALS are encouraged to head down to the local and share a beer and have a yarn to football legend Wally Lewis on Friday, December 11.

This living legend is dropping into The Commonwealth Hotel to have a beer with Ben, George and the locals from 4pm on Friday, December 11.

The evening will be hosted by sports journalist, author and comedian, Steve Haddan who will talk with Wally to share some of his incredible stories of how, from humble beginnings, he left no stone unturned in his quest to be the best, how he faced triumph, illness and heartache in equal measure and captured the hearts of a generation of fans with his breathtaking talent and courage.

“It’s a massive thing for the community that Wally will take the time to come out to Roma,” owner Ben Cannon said.

“Roma is the heartland of rugby league in the western region and there have been so many great players come out of this place.

“So many people are looking forward to it.”

Wally will have copies of his new autobiography written with Steve Haddan – My Life: Wally Lewis – available for sale $59.99.
