Meat Ants change codes

SEVENS: The Augathella Meat Ants have put together their first ever Rugby Union squad and will be marching into the Santos Roma Rugby 7s this weekend.

The Meat Ants have managed to assemble troops from NSW, Morven, Augathella and Roma to fill the 15-man squad.

Club president Jeremy Francis said he was excited for the day.

"It's going to be a great day, a lot of the boys have never played union before so it'll be a laugh,” he said.

"I'm not sure how we are going to go changing codes but we're going down for a bit of fun and I'm looking forward to having a beer afterwards.”

Francis said if there was a strength the Meat Ants would bring from the rugby league side of things, "It'll be our care-free attitude.”
