Mazda2 sedan confirmed to arrive in 2015
THE Mazda2 sedan will arrive in Australia later this year.
It will be the first time we've had a sedan version of the '2 since 2010. Prices have not been revealed.
Like its hatchback sibling, Mazda2 sedan will be available with two transmission types, the six-speed automatic and six-speed manual, and with two 1.5-litre petrol engine choices.
The standard SKYACTIV-G petrol engine delivers 79kW of power and 139Nm of torque, while the more powerful high-spec alternative puts out 81kW of power at 6000rpm and maximum torque of 141Nm at 4000rpm.
It offers fuel economy figures from as little as 4.9 litres/100km and Smart City Brake Support will be available as an option across the range.
"When we first saw the design for the Mazda2 sedan we decided it was a must-have car. Often B-segment sedans can lack style and design flow, but we believe the Mazda2 sedan is the best looking of its type in its segment. Having a stylish sedan on sale alongside a sporty hatch provides even more choice to light car buyers," Mazda Australia's managing director Martin Benders said.
