Mayor Jamieson: Anti-airport candidates won't win votes
SUNSHINE Coast mayor Mark Jamieson doesn't believe candidates opposing the airport expansion will get elected on March 19.
Cr Jamieson was answering questions at a press conference after the last council Ordinary Meeting for this term of councillors.
He was asked what would happen if newly elected councillors opposed the airport expansion and if it could derail the process.

A confident Cr Jamieson said this wouldn't happen as he didn't believe councillors who opposed the airport expansion would get elected.
"I would be very surprised if anyone opposing the airport got elected," he said.
"I believe the community want the airport so people who oppose the airport won't get elected."
He said the Sunshine Coast realised the airport expansion was a "critical piece of infrastructure".
