Mayoral candidate wants a 'South Bank' for Toowoomba

MAYORAL candidate Lindy Eising says council needs to talk with ratepayers.

"You need to listen, communicate and have common sense," she said.

"I want this to be a friendly caring council that can get the job done."

She pledged to help businesses to come to the region and support those already here to create jobs and stability.

"Council should not abuse their ratepayers or people.

"I'm here for people , animals, native trees and wildlife.

"We need to get the cars off the road and people back into towns."

Ms Eising said she would create South Bank-style parks and "little foodie places".

Parking is also on the agenda, with Ms Eising promising to cut meter fines back to $20 until the CBD is "fixed".

"Animal rego and fines need to be reduced because they are part of family," she said.

"We should open dams for people and animals to swim like it used to be We need to use contractors and printers in the region to create jobs.

"We should save Weis, it's an icon.

"We need to make this a safe city and region.

"I will make a good mayor, why? Because I care."
